AIM

Mr Patterson brought Raenan to talk about his experiences in life.  He talked about many stuff but the one thing that really inspired me was when he said "Set a goal for yourself and aim for it " He achieved his goal and that is my goal as well. To become head boy of SHC. This year Lemeki the current head boy of SHC has created history the first ever Tongan head boy for SHC.

My long term goal is to become head boy but for now my goal is to improve in learning and try my best in everything I do and always aim high. Set yourself a goal and you to could achieve it, just try your best and always take advantage of the opportunities that come your way. AIM(A Aspiration, I Inspiration, M Motivation) These are the three words that could change your life and make you think even more.

Title
What it means to be a good role model
Introduction
Role models are around us. We are always looking up to the people that we want be like when we grow up. So for today I am going to give you my main 3 characteristics of what it means to be a good role model.

Information
1st idea
The most important thing to being a good role model is respecting the people around you. That is always a good way to being an excellent role model. Respecting people means listening to others, taking care of someone and always have the willing to help people out. Respect is the first key to being a good role model .

Information
2nd idea
The second best way to show that you are a good role model is to have that confidence in you. Confidence to stand up and speak in front of people, confidence to talk to adults with respect and the confidence to help the people that are in need. Being confident is always a good thing to have. Self confidence is always a good skill to have. I highly recommend for you to be confident in everything you do, speak up for yourself and stand on  your own two feet. Be confident.

Information
3rd idea
My last reason is to be a good example. Be a good example for the younger kids so when they grow up they know how to respect younger kids as well. This does not mean you disrespect your elders. Respect your elders no matter what ,so they can see what you’re parents have been teaching you. There is a saying “Treat others the way you want to be treated”. So if you treat people with respect they will treat you with respect but if you disrespect them then they will have nothing kind to say to you. Demonstrate to the younger kids what it takes to be a good role model. We need more boys\mens that can treat a girl\woman with respect. We all need to demonstrate to each other what it takes to be a good role model.

Conclusion
Respect, confidence and being a good example, are my main three characteristics of a good role model. They are people who are always respectful, calm, and confident in themselves. You don't want someone who is down or tries to bring you down. Everyone likes a person who is happy with their achievements, but continues to strive for bigger and better things in life. I hope that you take the things I’ve said and apply it to your life.

They've been practising for the whole week and couldn't wait to get on that stage and show everyone what they've been working on. First Mrs Lagitupu gave a introduction to everyone. First the girls had their items then the boys had to do their haka. Niuean language week was a success.

Angles

  1. 360 - 246 = 114o
  2. 125 + 118 = 243 + 117o = 360
  3. 169 + 134 = 303 + 57o = 360
  4. 138 - 90 = 228 + 132o= 360
  5. 83 + 75 + 94 =252 + 108o = 360
  6. 95 + 90 + 118 = 303 + 57o = 360
  7. 65 + 115 + 117 = 297 + 63o = 360
  8. 67 + 28 = 95 + 265o = 360
  9. 19 + 78 + 83 + 97 = 277 + 83o = 360
  10. 121 + 72 + 90 = 283 + 77o= 360
  11. 97 + 97 = 194 + 166o =360
  12. 360 - 124 = 236o
  13. 133 + 109 = 242 + 118o = 360

Why should you vote.

Voting has been one of the biggest thing in NZ because choosing our government is pretty much deciding who’s going to lead us. In 1920 womans was allowed to vote and that made a big difference because some would vote and some wouldn’t same thing goes with boys\mens.  I’ll give you three reasons to think about it’ll be telling you should vote.

My first reason is voting. Some people don’t vote but complain when they see that the government they have is not a honest and a caring one. So they keep on complaining but what they need to know is that their vote could of made the differences between winning and losing. So therefore I ask you please do vote because your vote counts and that way you have a say on something you don’t like and want them to change it.

Second reason. It is free to vote it’s not like the All Blacks game where you have to pay to vote who scores the first try or like Floyd Mayweather and Conor Mcgregor's fight you have to pay for it. It’s because voting is free and it’s also just as important as anything else, Why can’t we make the most of it. You never know they might say that you have to pay to vote then that’s when you start complaining so I’ll tell you now we are lucky that it’s free so why can’t we treat it like we’re grateful and vote.

Third reason is that everyone over 18+s can vote woman's and mans. In August 18th 1920 women’s  were allowed to vote so from there on everyone over 18+ was allowed to vote. They should be grateful and not take that for granted and vote because woman's was complaining saying why can’t they vote. So in 1920 they were allowed to vote and half of them don’t and that half could make a big difference. Everyone over 18+ go and vote now for the sake of our country.

I come to my conclusion but I hope that these three reasons give you something to think about. I hope everyone is grateful and votes because your vote might make difference between losing and winning and you don't want to regret anything so go on and vote who you think should be our prime minister and government

The best Maniakalni Film Festival movie

This week has being a tough week. People being away and scrips getting changed last minutes but my experience about filming has being great. Our class has  3 different movies but those three different movies are being put together, What are the movies? Well you'll have to wait and see. My group was Thaisoni, Heather, Tevita N, Samoa, Ana L, Hosea, Angelo, Izaac and I. Being in their group was really fun I was playing the part of the "cool guy" I had a lot of fun playing the too cool guy for everything.

The three different movies are awesome I'm really glad that Mrs Tele'a decided that our class would all be in the film. Some class only one or 4 people will be in the film. This year our whole class is able to be in the film and I think that my class is really happy that everyone has a part in the film even if it's just walking past the camera.

Some challenges for me was time managing because I was down at aims so I didn't have a part in the movie so I had to wait and see if I might be in the movie. Mrs Tele'a is so great that she saved a part for me in the movie so all I had to do was learn my lines and act my part well.  I am grateful that Mrs Tele'a saved a part for me in the movie because it's my last year and I wanted to be in the film for my last year at P.E.S.

Some movie ideas for next year is Cyber smart, Don't be a bully and A day in Pt England School. These are just some ideas for next year. I think that a day in Pt England School would be really fun. It would be easy and fast to do if you're teacher is under pressure. Next year I would love to come back and watch some new movies that Pt England students.

This year my class room probably has the best movie not going to lie. I guess we'll have to wait and see at the Manaiakalani Film Festival.  This is a link to all Manaiakalni Film Festival it has all the schools that make movies just like our school,

Cross Country

On you're marks, Get set, GO!!!! and everyone just starts sprinting as fast as they can. Lanzie in the front and everyone trying to catch him. Second cone and I finally catched him now I was the target, everyone was trying to catch me on to the muddy fields and this just made it harder. What made us even more tired was trying to pull our legs out of the mud. First lap done and Thaisoni is the only one chasing me he stopped to have a rest and Flynlay run right passed him this was a lesson to never stop even if you think no one is close to you. Feeling proud of myself that I never stopped was a good feeling. I just went out there and gave it my best and I came 1st. Placing for me doesn't really matter as long as I push myself to my limits and I diffidently did. Coming 1st was just a bonus for me but every one else did good. Can't wait for fitness training again in team 5.

Simple, compound and complex

One night there was a boy name Jack, he got scared so he ran away from home. While he was running he was having second thoughts, So he decided to Face the consequences. His parents forbid him from going outside. Jack was glad he did not get a hiding, although he was still sad he wasn’t allowed outside. Jack was finally allowed outside but he wanted to do the right thing and say sorry to his parents for running away, Jack’s parents were happy he finally learned his lesson. Jack was happy for himself because he finally learned the life lesson. Jack was happy that his parents was happy so he could move on with life.
This is my writing, my class was learning to put simple compound and complex sentences in our writing. The green is simple, the green is compound and the blue is complex

Holiday well spent

Last week of holidays, and what’s a better way to finish it then writing it down. Last week was something special me and my family decided to go on a movie night, we watched The boss baby. It was funny because I told my mom that the movie starts at 1:45 but really it started at 12:00 so we went in late. I don’t know how but I didn’t see the 12:00, and during the movies my aunty fell asleep and me and my cousins was just smashing our faces with the food we bought.

After the movies we went for a little walk and looked around, when we finally got bored we decided to go home and have a rest it was fun well it lasted but the main thing for me was spending time with my cousins.

The last week of the holidays was just full of spending time with family, like the first day of the school holiday I finally got to see my sister she came over to spend the holidays with us before she went back to Australia. First we went to Carl’s Jr ate there then we came home but me, my brother and my sister went to the basketball court and played there for a while me and my sister carved up my older brother. My sister and I was finally able to bond because she  normally is always away and now she lives in Australia just makes it even harder but I guess that’s part of growing up. It’s always fun spending time with your only sibling that’s around your age.

I always cherish my memories that I have with my older brothers and sisters because they grew up too fast and I didn’t really get time to spend with them, my older brothers are gone their ways I only have one older brother here with me. I guess it’s fine at least they keep coming and taking us everywhere, my sisters are all playing sports I love that my older siblings never forget their roots.

I just can't wait to get back to school and learn more and improve more, I definitely can't wait to get back in to that leader ship roll as your prefect. See yous next week and lets get ready to learn.

Another hot day in the sun but special Polyfest

Off to Poly fest, and man was it hot we were sitting in the sun for hours and hours and I felt like an ice melting right away.  I couldn’t wait to go and visit other stores and stations, the first station that me and my group went to was a group of people that liked to help and show people what their culture means, and also showing us what we can study for in University.

The firemen's were really helpful with what they were showing us. What they were showing us was how to put a fire away if it started with oil and it is in the kitchen, So first they said put a wet towel over the pot and if that doesn’t work put the pot's lid back on but you never mix water and oil together because it has a reaction and that reaction just may end your life.  If you are too close to the pot then it is a possibility if you to get burnt.

Police man, Okay so we think that been a Police is easy right but how about doing fitness, staying healthy and always been ahead of schedule.  Doing all that ain’t that easy but it’s all worth it when you see your community safe and your family safe, been a good Police takes a lot of work but you will get there if you have the attitude and the motivation to do it.

Last of all was hanging out with my group, My group and I really had fun we walked around playing all kinds of games and winning all kinds of prizes, but my favourite part was sitting down and having a rest in the shade because it was hot and we were just melting right away but it was all good walking and watching other cultures performing.

Poly fest was really really fun watching different groups, but I think what matters is why is Poly fest so special? Well it’s because you learn more about your culture and other peoples culture Poly fest is a special event so come along on Saturday and support those who are performing

R.I.P(Rest in paradise)Nana

To my grandma. Grand parents are very special, to all of us but to me they mean everything. We have 2 grandma's and 2 grandpa's. I only spent so much time with my dad's mum Because she loved to travel she would travel every where, so I wouldn't really spent so much time with her I only spent one week with her and it didn't even feel like one week. My mum's parents well them they are full with energy they are also the ones who raised me too it must of been hard work. My dad's parents I was so fortune to at least spent one week for them because they would hardly ever stay at one place they would just travel from here to there.

My grandma who is now in god's hands was the queen at everything she did. She was the best at cooking it was funny because my dad and his siblings tried to get her secret recipe, she finally gave my dad the recipes you's should of seen my my dad's face he was very greatful.  My beautiful nana called me over to the sitting room, for a second I thought I was going to get in trouble but she just wanted to know how school and sports was for me.  My nana said to me that school for her wasn't easy, I told her that I know how she feels. My nana looked at me with anger and she said " Siaosi when you play sports and games gets hard, the other team is cheating and you are angry do you give up"? I said to her no never "well you do the same with school".

R.I.P(Rest .In .Paradise) it was time my family and I travelled down to Wellington to get ready for the funeral, it was really nice meeting new families down Wellington. My chore was baby sitting with my two cousins trust me it's never easy baby sitting a Lealiifano and a Puleaga Child. They are all naughty like their dad's.  As the week went past it was time to carry nana to the church, The youngest child out of my dad had a idea for all the grand kids to carry my nana into the church. I was really happy that I got to carried my nana into the church and got to say a prayer for her. It was like this wise man said to me "everything beautiful and carrying comes and goes but always remember them thought out the hard times" I really do miss my nana but at least she is not is pain anymore.

Title
Why People Need to Drink Water
Introduction
My topic is about why do we need to drink water, Because it keeps us hydrated and active. Because when we do not have enough water in our body we start been lazy so that means that our body hasn’t had enough water.

Information
1st element
It keeps us hydrated and strong. This is why when athletes or players have a big tournament coming up their coach tells them to drink lots of water, it keeps us hydrated and the strength to do lots of things like training but it also helps us with our homework because our brain needs water.

Information
2nd element
So we can have showers. Most countries limit their water so their kids have to take a bath with the same water or they all have to have a shower at the same time. This is why we are so lucky in New Zealand because we can have showers in the morning and in the afternoon so let’s use our water smart and take showers everyday

Information
3rd element
It can prevent you from cancer. As the video said many people get cure and prevent mixed up, No water can not cure you but it can prevent you from cancer so you have a better chance of not having cancer.

Conclusion
We all need water,  because we can’t survive without water. Scientist say that you can survive without food but not water that’s saying that we need water the most. Fizzy drinks should be forbidden under the age of 12 year olds. Keep hydrated.

Story of myself

Talofa lava my name is Siaosi, I am in room 3 with my beautiful teacher Mrs Tele’a. 2017 wow! Hasn’t the year gone fast, it was really sad to see the year 8’s leave but 2017 is our year and no one will stop us. 2016 in sports we have lost many sports, what was worst was most of them we would lose in the finals that didn’t isn’t going to stop us not even for 2017. 2017 is our year so that means every sports we are going to commit to training so we know what to do on the field, it means in learning we are going to pay attention to the teacher and learn as much as possible.

2016 started school in the first day of term 1 one of my main sports that I enjoyed was rugby union, 7’s, Tag, touch and Ki o rahi.  We won Ki o rahi, we lost 7’s at Auckland champs in the finals, we lost rugby union, we lost tag at Auckland champs in our semi and we lost touch in the finals. That’s just my main sports and how gutted we were last year.

2017 is our year we may not be able to win every sports but let’s give it all we got! . This year I am a year 8 student and I want to lead my school\team and strive to succeed. Remember the same effort you give in sports you do the same with our learning.

Reflect on 2016

2016 whatta crazy year, let’s go back when I first started school in year 7. I was in room 3 for my home class and all other learning classes.   I was lucky enough that I knew one person from Pt England and his name was Alfa Kepu Saafi. He was the one that introduced me to the boys, first game we played was touch.  It was a good friendly game.  As the year went past I made new friends boys and girls also teachers.

I have enjoyed been part of team 5 we have great memories and some not so good. Sports - first sport of the year was tag I was nervous but when you have great friends nothing is possible. This year I have been in tag, touch, rugby, soccer, softball, cricket,Ki o rahi, athletics and netball. It was a great experience playing sports with the boys it means alot to me knowing that the boys supported me too.

I am proud of all the things we have achieved this year.  Ki o rahi was a great game.  The first time I played it  and my team and I took it out. I was shocked,  when we won the team that we played in the final did us a haka!  This shows great sportsmanship, even if you lose or win still show respect.   This got me wondering if we should have a haka for school - for next year.

I will never forget those who help me throughout  the hard and easy times because without you amazing people I would've never got this far.   I would just like to say a big thank you. I will cherish my time I had with my friends,  for always being there for me when I needed you guys the most - thank you!
