Prize giving night

On Thursday night we had prizegiving. Many kids got awards, to acknowledge their hard work in class and outside of class. We started of with year 5s and there item was great everyone was committed to their dance. Kids got award for learning, sports and also for those who come school everyday.

Year 6s was next there one was just like year 5s but with more awards and with a better item. Faioso, Javan and Samoa looked like the main ones for sports and learning awards. Faioso and Javan got sportsman and sportswoman of the year, they deserved it.

Year 7s item was next my heart was pumping faster as it would normally would. Everyone was screaming and yelling out loud more and more people went on the stage to get a awards, I was wondering if I was going to get called up. “Now we move on to Reps awards Temauri, Alfa and Siaosi” as I walked on the stage while everyone was yelling I got scared. I walked up on stage proud to be next to the two boys I played with this year and the two boys I fought against in trials for two rep team but Temauri, Alfa and I made it in, it was the proudest moment of my life achieving  something together with these two boys.

Year 8s item was next year 8s and 7s was crying then. As the year 8s walked up emotions were taking the better of them and not to mention some of the year 7s. Most people tried to hold it in but you can’t hold it in for someone really special and maybe you have known them ever since year 1 is leaving you. Back to awards so for dux Lucy came third and Stevenson and Jordan the two boys in room 3 tied for 1st place on dux it was no shock there because those two boys really do show how smart they are in class. We packed up and prize giving was finished proud of everyone that got an award and everyone who didn’t even though they didn’t get award but at least they still work hard in class. Just for the year 7s we should be stepping up already as leaders and year 8s good luck on your college and god bless yous.

“Boom! Somebody call 911”. A handsome boy name Alfa Kepu Saafi tried to do an investigation about fire, something went horribly wrong about his experiment. Alfa wasn’t following the instruction he was too busy trying to look cool. He wanted to find out about fire. His method was to light the lighter, holding it upside down and then counting how long it would take for flame to die.

Alfa was waiting for while now. So he lost his patience went over to check and it burnt his eyebrows,eyelashes and his hair off he had a boko face and hair and sadly the prom was tomorrow. He didn’t want to go but he had to since he was leaving. Alfa went to the prom looking proud his date to the prom was Simon. These two didn’t have dates so they had to go together

Alfa’s friends had his back at the prom.(a few months later) his eyebrows and eyelashes grew up he was very happy he learned if you ever want to do a science experiment remember safety first.

It was an ordinary day, “stomp stomp stomp” as the grumpy Mrs Tele’a walks in the classroom. Students were scared “stop look and listen” as Mrs Tele’a requested to her classroom Mrs Tele’a told her classroom “we are going outside to do some science experiment”. Students were scared. We are going to do the bottle bomb. “We going to die!” everyone shouting.

“Everyone stepped back”, Mrs Tele’a asked for a volunteer but no one put there hand up. Suddenly Alfa the brave put his hand up he went up to the from he had one job put the ice in and run as far as possible but he didn’t. He was too busy thinking about what would happen that he forgot to run away, “Alfa run!” as everyone shouted Siaosi ran in as fastest he can got the bottle and threw it up in the air and it was raining ice, everyone celebrating the science class is over.

On Tuesday the 15th of November, 8:17 AM disaster struck. A strong magnitude 7.5 earthquake hit 15 km N of Kaikoura, New Zealand. It is one of the biggest earthquakes in New Zealand. Tsunami warnings have been announced to hit the top of the South Island.

Houses were badly damaged so was roads. The earthquakes also caused landslides. Some business owners didn’t have insurance. This meant that damage to their buildings would cause them to move out and they would have to pay for the damage. During the earthquake many gutless burglars decided it was good to loot and rob houses. Stealing the owner’s belongings.


Once again we are sorry for your hometown being destroyed by this natural disaster. Hopefully you guys find your way through life. God bless you all.

The village Acanon you were not allowed to help.

Once a upon time, there was a village called Acanon. You were never allowed to help people there, if you help other people you would get thrown in the dungeon!.  No one knew if you get thrown in the dungeon you also get killed. One day a boy name Sefo came to the village the king told him all the rules.  Sefo asked that king “Why you weren’t allowed to help”  “ It’s none of your business”.

Next day Sefo went for a walk and check out the village but that’s when the king was suspicious about him,so he sent his guards to spy on him. Sefo walked and walked suddenly he heard a sound from this house so he went to help and he did.  He also  did not t know the guards were spying on him. The guards quickly rushed back to the king to tell him.

The king sent his guards back to the village to look for him and they got him they threw him into the dungeon. The king and the guards did not know was that the girl that Sefo helped was also doing what Sefo did so the helping spread through the village.

When they found out that Sefo was in the dungeon the whole village went to get him out. Fighting with all their lives and heart to break out who they believe should be the new king Sefo so they fighted out the guards lucky the king did not have that many guards. The village fighted to the end where they would find Sefo they saved him, Sefo  became the new king of the village and new rules were set so everyone was happy and Sefo and his beautiful wife got married. They ran the village proudly and respectfully.

Rust is usually to refer to a common ,reddish brown compound called iron oxide. Iron oxide is formed when iron and oxygen react in the presence of water or moisture in the air. Iron oxide is very common, because iron reacts easily with oxygen in the air.

How could you prevent something from rusting?

So whenever iron,water and oxygen come together that’s when rust starts to happen so the best to prevent rust from happening is keep those three things apart.

You need:rugby ball,two or more people,rugby boots,Mouth guard,wear cloths you know you can run with: 

Passing: Hold the ball,one hand on the bottom and one hand on the top to support the ball. Your hand at the back in the one that is suppose to spin the ball if you are passing to the right your right hand is at the back if you are passing to the left your backhand, is the left hand. Your hand in the front in is suppose to support the ball and make sure it goes straight

Stepping:Is a simple skill you can get this skill in one go if you time it right. Run straight to the person and step off one leg basically pushing off one leg and getting it right. Practise your bed leg first because you can learn it fast with your good leg.

Tackling:Tackling is a skill that you need to have if you wanna be a rugby player. Don’t be scared to tackle someone that's bigger than you. Hit them with your shoulder and drive back.Always head up when you are tackling. You don't need to hit every one that you tackle you just gotta make sure you get them right.


This is why the Ab(All Blacks) are so successful because they do the basic right. You too can become an Ab(All Blacks)You just need to listen,get the basic right,have the right attitude and just work hard.

“Hi my name is Usain Bolt”.I was born  on  August 21, 1986 and i am 30 years old. I have a dream and my dream is to become the fastest man. My goal is to compete in the Rio Olympics.  

Training is not fun, I don't get the point of it, I never feel like it.  I would always go and pretend to train because I don’t know what’s the point of training and why do we train. Most times I would always be slack in training until this trainer told me straight, he said “why do you always come to my gym but u do nothing?” I answered “because i have no drills to do because my trainer gave up on me”.  Usain went looking for a new trainer and this man’s name is Glen Mills.  

He told Usain, “I would love to train you but you gotta put in the hard work.” I answered “yeah sure i’ll put in the hard yards”. (Next day)someone woke me up i looked and it was Glen Mills in my house at 6:00am he yelled “wake up son we gotta go train”  Usain was so tired but he had to go do the  hard yards every single day he would go every day except Sundays that his day off.   

When he went to go training more and more he started to love it so his training and his trainer Glen Mills thought that Usain Bolt can handle the olympics so he made Usain compete.  Usain was so happy of what he achieved and he wanted to go farther than that he wanted a medal not any medal gold medal.  

He got to go to Rio Olympics and his first event was 100m in 2008.   First time he got on the tracks he was nervous but proud of himself he went to set up the the race starter came to start the race “on your marks,get set GO!!”

Usain was the last one to take off but comes to do the 50m he starts catching up,40m everyone starts to slow down but Usain is going all in,the moment that we have all being waiting for last 10m Usain goes all out and he finishes of first.  His country,family,coach and himself was super proud of him coming along way and training for four years and it  pay off.

It had been 2792 year since the first ever Olympics. It was taken place in Olympia Some of the sports played 2792 years ago was running, jumping, discus throwing, wrestling, boxing, pankration, horse and chariot races, and the pentathlon. It was held in 776 BC. The ancient Olympic Games came to an end in 393 AD, approximately 1000 years after they had first started.

If I was alive 2792 years ago one of the sports I would have liked to play would have been Running because It seems like the most non-death defying. There were three running events in the Ancient Olympics The stade, a sprinting race. The athletes ran from one side of the stadium to the other. The diaulos,  a middle distance race. The athletes ran two lengths of the stadium. The dolichos – an endurance race. The athletes ran approximately 20 lengths of the stadium.

There was a famous man named Milo of Croton. He was a famous wrestler and loved a good wrestle. The date of Milo's death is unknown, but he reportedly was attempting to tear a tree apart when his hands became trapped in a crevice in its trunk, and a pack of wolves surprised and devoured him

Walter Dickson Nominations when i heard my name get called out that i was going to trial i was already scared and nervous.  So i done one thing that most people will do train hard and when i went to trial be focus don’t let anyone or anything distract you.  Also when you get the ball make the most of it and run as hardest you can cause you will be lucky to get the ball four times so when you get that ball run pass if you need to but run as hardest you can.  When the first trial was finish i got called back i was very happy and my parents were very proud of me of making it to the next trial.

Second trial i thought it was going to feel like the first trial but i guess i was wrong it was way harder and tiring at the same time i missed heaps of tackles and when i got the ball i was just jogging not running as fastest i would normal run and i wasn’t playing as good as how i would normally play.  Third game i was looking forward to it but i got send of the field cause i got con cast but i wanted to stay on the field because i can’t show the coach's what i can do when i am sitting on the sideline i need to be on the field to show them what i can do.  So when the second  trial finish my dad said you're lucky if i make it because i wasn’t playing very well like how i would normally play but later on that night i got the text saying that i made the 28 squad team so my dad said that i was lucky but at least i made the 28 squad all i need to do is not get cut so in training just make sure your focus and do what the coaches say and listen.

In class we watched the movie called Alma so sit back and relax and enjoy my story.  She was walking down the alley way and then she wrote her name on the wall after that she heard a sound so she looked at the store next to her and saw a doll that looks exactly like her  and she wanted the doll so  she went inside the store and started looking for the doll that looks like her.  When she saw the doll she went to get it but she had  climb up because she was too short but when she touched the doll and she got stuck in the doll so that means all of the name’s that are on the wall are all the kids that got stucked inside the doll’s.  They showed us the next girl that was going to get stucked inside the doll.

It good to try something new but not good to do it for a jacket or to try and be cool and fit in you will fit in just the way you are.  

I am a lion take charge but we all lions need to learn how to listen to other people’s idea.

Never try to be someone who you are not just be yourself and everything will come in time.

Happiness in life comes to people that put other people before them.

Do the right thing and make good choose’s even if you have to let go of your friends that always get you in trouble.

Immersion Assembly

On the first day of term 2 Point England school had an Immersion Assembly where teachers from all teams presented what they are learning about for the rest of the term.

During the assembly I found out that the funny team one kids are going to be learning about their favourite things and how it can be turned into art. Miss George and the other team one teachers, Miss Wild, Miss Peck, Miss Lal and Miss Dwyer had made a movie of their favourite things and had a quiz at the end, it showed who was paying attention. The prize was a mini size Whittakers chocolate.

The next item was team 2 and they are learning about the different seasons and the amazing colours that come with them, like how Winter has a sparkly blue and white colour when it comes and how autumn has a darker colour like brown, red and maroon, I would probably call them warm colours. So the team 2 teachers (Mrs Nalder, Miss Tumahai, Miss Eadie and Miss Szymanik) and their students will be learning about what colours come with which season.

Then it was team 3's turn and they had made another movie but this time it was about Grand Designs. Mr Blakey was the host and all the other teacher's in team 3 acted in the movie as well. The movie was about how 4 people who shared the same dream found each other on Facebook and decided to make their dream a reality. Their dream was to find the best location so that they could build their DREAM HOUSE. That's when I found out that team 3 students are learning about architectural designs and graphs.

An extra video was made by the team four teachers and it was so funny. There video was about made up superheros and an evil villain named Bear Baxendine who loves stealing chromebooks and how one day he decided to steal Bobby Johns chromebook but was stop by Bat Guy, Wondering  Women and Team Leader America. Team 4 are focusing on comic books and how comics come with more pictures than words.

Finally, we saved the best for last the incredibly talented team 5 teacher's had choreographed a play about Point England’s team houses and what each waka’s true meaning is , Hine Moana is the Lady of the Sea, Te Aurere is the blood, sweat and tears, Hokule'a is the growing earth and Hikianalia is rising up into the guiding constellation of the stars.

Team 4  is focusing on superheroes.  There video was so funny and cool  there video was about the Bear Baxendine was stealing Bobby John’s chromebook and the hero’s found him the hero’s name’s are Bat Guy,Wondering  Women,Team Leader America.

When the hero’s found  Bear Baxendine the first two hero’s failed and then the rest of the hero’s came and took him down and the the two heroes was thanking their group and very grateful that they came to the restq

They said that they would be working on superhero’s and read comic books and maybe even create their own comic book’s i bet they are going to have so much fun reading comic books and even create some comic books of there own i can’t wait to find out later.
